Rosie Hood & Tom Wright

Saturday February 23rd 2019

BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominated Rosie Hood is a folk singer/songwriter from England known for her strong, pure voice and captivating performances. Immersed in traditional music most of her life Rosie released her critically acclaimed debut album “The Beautiful & The Actual” in 2017.

BBC Performing Arts Fellow in 2015 and a 2016 Horizon Award nominee, Rosie has become more than purely a traditional singer. Having learnt folk songs from an early age, Rosie has a keen interest in the history of traditional songs, particularly those of her native Wiltshire, where she has spent time researching in the local archives and developing a broad repertoire of local songs.

Rosie’s evocative vocals will be accompanied by the sensitive guitar and banjo of multi-instrumentalist and producer Tom A Wright. Tom has performed and recorded with the likes of Eliza Carthy and Nancy Kerr, as well as being a member of the most recent line-up of folk-rock legends The Albion Band. Rosie and Tom will be performing traditional and new folk songs from Rosie’s debut album as well as other new work, arranged specially for this tour.
