Pulled together by Brian's magnetic, globe-trotting compositions and a love of traditional music, the Brian Pickell Band is both stunningly musical and energizing to listen to. It showcases the superlative fiddling talents of Shane Cook, multiple winner of the Canadian and Grand Masters Fiddle Contests and the American Grand National. Also featured are renowned Ottawa multi-instrumentalist James Stephens on fiddle, mandolin and viola; Pat O'Gorman, an admired mainstay of the Canadian music scene, on flute, whistles and pipes; Julie Schryer, widely considered to be one of the finest piano accompanists in Canada; and Brian Pickell, an accomplished composer, guitarist, banjo and mandolin player.

Brian's tunes have been recorded by countless other artists, including Nicholas Williams, Pierre Schryer, Allison Lupton, Tony McManus (Scotland), Deaf Shepherd (Scotland), the Halali Fiddle Band (USA), Gretchyn Koehler (USA), Oliver Schroer, Liz Dogherty (Ireland), Ottawa's Jiig, and the Schryer Triplets.
